The 40th Biel Chess Festival took place 21st July-3rd August 2007.

Round 9 saw Carlsen recovered from his 2 consecutives loses by beating Radjabov with the White pieces to earn him a tie with Onischuk at 5.5/9.

Carlsen then proceed to win the tie-break to clinch his first Biel Chess Festival title after finishing second last year.
