Latest World Championship Format:
FIDE announced confusing latest World Championship format.
Press release at: http://www.chessdom.com/news/topalov-wcc Veselin Topalov will have an eight-game Challenger Match against the winner of the 2007 World Cup in the year 2008 as part of the new WCCh cycle. It states if GM Kramnik wins the WCCh tournament in Mexico City 2007, a match between GM Kramnik and GM Topalov, the current and the previous world champions, will take place in 2008. In that case, the winner of the Kramnik-Topalov match will play against the winner of the 2007 World Cup.

Dortmund Sparkassen Chess Meeting
The Sparkassen Chess Meeting takes place 23rd June - 1st July 2007 in the Dortmund Civic Theatre.
Eight players will compete in a single round robin: Viswanathan Anand, Magnus Carlsen, Boris Gelfand, Vladimir Kramnik, Peter Leko, Shakhriyar Mamedyarov, Arkadij Naiditsch and the winner of the Aeroflot Open 2007 in Moscow, Evgeny Alekseev.
