Chuah Heng Meng started as fifth seed, and went through this tough event without a single defeat. Another young, rising star of penang Evan Timothy, share the same triumph with 6/7. However, Chuah wins this event on tiebreak points.
Chuah Heng Meng has been Penang state player for 30 years and he is still going strong.

National Closed 2007 runner up could only finished 7? It's tough!
Second seed and Penang Chess Champion 2007 Tan Khai Boon could only finished 8th. No doubt, it's tough!
Top seed, Loo Swee Leong is denied the crown by Chuah Heng Meng. It's OK, he will be back with a revenge!
