Time Control : 25 minutes per player

Tie-Break : (1) Solkoff; (2) S/B; (3) Cumulative; (4) P/E (where applicable) ;

Entry Fee : RM 20 (adult) / RM 18 (stonemaster. biz member) / RM 15 (under 12) / RM 10 (ACS member)
Discounts will be given for families entering 3 or more and group entering 10 or more players.

The purpose for GP1, GP2 & GP3 is to qualify for GP Final. GP Final will take into consideration of the best 2 tournament results from GP1,2,3. Only the top 16 (Total GP points) will proceed to GP Final.

Grand Prix Final, 9 Dec, 9am - 5pm. 7-round swiss system with 30 minutes each.

Prizes: No sharing of cash prizes, NO category prizes. Tie breaks: Buch, Berg, Cumm.

1st RM300, 2nd RM200, 3rd RM100, 4th RM60, 5th RM50
6th - 10th RM30 each, 11th - 13th RM20 each, 14th - 16th RM10 each.

On 28 Oct, PCA organised a U9 selection to select Penang's best U9 player to play in ASEAN YOUTH TEAM at Shah Alam. 16 most promising/best U9 players are called into participant in this selection and they are :

Teoh Ern Tek manage to beat 2nd placing Wong Hao, 4th placing Ong Choon Yong, 6th placing Lim Chuin Khai and 10 placing Tan Lu Quan. His only loss is to third placing Elgin Lee. Having played 5 top 10 finisher, it is no wonder his Buch score is top.

The European Team Championship is under way in Crete, Greece. After 3 rounds,  Russia with Svidler, Morozevich, and Grischuk is now leading the event with 6 match points along with Slovenia, Azerbaidjan, and Netherlands. The women's section saw Hungary, Poland, and Russia sharing the lead with maximum match points.
